• Headpiece/Crownpiece: Sits behind the horse's ears and is the main strap that holds the bridle in place.
• Browband: Runs across the horse's forehead, from ear to ear, to prevent the bridle from sliding back.
• Cheekpieces: Connect the headpiece to the bit and run along the sides of the horse's face.
• Throatlatch: A strap that passes under the horse's throat, preventing the bridle from being pulled off over the head.
• Noseband: Encircles the horse's nose, often used to keep the mouth closed or for attaching other equipment.
• Bit: The metal (or other material) piece that goes into the horse's mouth, resting on the sensitive interdental space (bars) between the teeth.
• Reins: Attached to the bit, these are the rider's connection to the horse for directional commands
